Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer and songwriter, whose stories of young heartache achieved widespread fame in the early 21st century. Swift began to show an interest in music at an early age and she quickly progressed from roles in children's theatre until her first performance before the crowd of a thousand. She was age 11 when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner before a basketball game for the Philadelphia 76ers. in the next year she picked up a guitar, and began writing songs. Swift created original music which was influenced by country stars such as Shania Twain (now known as the Chicks), and Dixie Chicks. Her material reflects her experience of being a tween. At the age of 13, Swift's parents sold their property in Pennsylvania in order to relocate towards Hendersonville Tennessee so she could concentrate more time pursuing country music labels near Nashville.
